The Pike group includes different species of predatory fish that belong to the Gar (Lepisosteidae) family, the Needlefish (Belonidae) family, the Amiiformes order and the Pike-Characin (Ctenoluciidae, Hepsetidae and Distichodontidae) families. The pike group also includes species from the genera Luciocephalus and Belonesox that belong to the families of the gouramies (Osphronemidae) and the live-bearing fish (Poeciliidae).
